The company's assets, valued at approximately $650,000, are set to be sold at a public auction managed by ThreeSixty Asset Advisors.

To be sure, I know nothing of the business side of the anime business, but isn't $640K peanuts compared to the big boys in the North American market? Just curious.

The biggest hurdle to participating in this bidding auction is that the auction house doesn't do the shipping. You have to make an appointment to physically pick-up your loot during a small window, or hire one of their recommended shippers to pick-up in your place, with all the requisite paperwork and money.

Lot of it is main stream anime and comic figurines. Nothing I was looking for. They only had one character from Madoka Magica, but it wasn't even one from the original series.

Most auction houses that I'm aware of require the buyer to arrange for pickup themselves, and for large lots it would be impractical for the auction house to arrange shipping anyway.

Most of the bids will likely be from other companies and/or locals

I'm not to familiar with auction houses much, but the only two I've dealt with were Heritage (Who've advertised on this site before) and Mandarake Auction, both of these have shipping options. I imagine it's a difference of selling individual items or lots like this one seems to be doing.
