the company is implementing a replacement program where it will provide "a corrected decorative part that end-users can use to replace the misprinted part.

Wonder if it will actually be a corrected decorative part, or just a corrected sticker to place over the error.

If it is an actual physical part to be replaced, wonder how easy it will be remove the existing part and replace it with a corrective part, without breaking something.

Looks like the misprint is on a sticker to begin with, so it probably won't be too difficult for them to slap on a new one.

I've been hearing some (negative) things about ASUS quality control as of late and this story gives me the giggles. I hope that anyone that was planning to put this in their builds get a proper correction - you're pretty much ONLY buying this for the art, and for the art (the main focus of the purchase) to be wrong is kinda insane.

It's a narrow part of the cooling shroud with printing on it, either made of plastic or aluminum, not a sticker. It'll either require removing the shroud and heatsinks or if it's glued on they might just require the part be pried off with a spudger. It's a $650+ motherboard, they aren't going to fix it with a sticker.

The reaction of the real Eva collectors will be to get two of them, one leaving the error uncorrected and one fixed. And they'll hang them on the wall and never use them. Laughing

I would think any of those actions done by the customer, would void any warranty that the motherboard has. Really, unless the customer is skilled at building desk top computers, I wouldn't recommend anyone opening up a desktop case and sticking their ungrounded hands on the motherboard. They should just issue a recall, for those that want it corrected, so that the professionals can do the work and be responsible for any damages.

I still think their corrective action, will be to send a thermal resistant sticker to place over the errored text on the motherboard. As it would be the cheapest option. Not the right option just the cheapest option for ASUS.
