posted on by Jennifer Sherman
About 740,000 copies of the Tales of Xilia role-playing game shipped in Japan in the first half of the 2012 fiscal year. This fiscal year began on April 1 in Japan, and the latest PlayStation 3 game in the Tales series shipped on September 8.
The number of copies shipped is separate from the amount actually sold during that period. Tales of Xillia sold about 526,000 copies in its first week, making it one of the top five best-selling games in Japan this year so far.
About 380,000 copies of AKB 1/48 Idol to Guam de Koi Shitara… (AKB 1/48 If I Were to Love an Idol in Guam…), the second "ultimate dating fantasy game" inspired by the all-female idol group AKB48, have shipped in Japan since its October 6 release. Other top-shipping titles for the first half of this fiscal year include the Taiko no Tatsujin Portable DX (Drum Master Portable DX) PSP game with about 220,000 copies shipped and the One Piece Unlimited Cruise SP 3DS game with about 210,000 copied shipped.
