Love Live! Movie's 2.3-Billion-Yen Earnings Surpass 2014 Crayon Shin-chan Film

The Love Live! The School Idol Movie film has earned more than 2.3 billion yen (about US$18.4 million) as of August 11, 58 days after the film opened at the box office. The film has surpassed the box-office earnings of this year's Crayon Shin-chan film, Eiga Crayon Shin-chan: Ora no Hikkoshi Monogatari ~Saboten Daishūgeki, which earned 2.28 billion yen (about US$18.2 million) during its theatrical run in Japan when it opened in April.
The film had earned 2.2 billion yen (about US$17.7 million) as of August 1, surpassing the box-office earnings of Puella Magi Madoka Magica The Movie Part 3: Rebellion.
The Shuriken Sentain Ninninger the Movie: The Dinosaur Lord's Splendid Ninja Scroll!/Kamen Rider Drive: Surprise Future double bill ranked at #6 on 297 screens in its first weekend. The film sold 171,297 tickets, and earned 213,289,350 yen (about US$1.71 million).
