The June issue of Shueisha's Ribon magazine revealed on Wednesday that Yōko Maki's Kirameki no Lion Boy (Sparkly Lion Boy) manga will reach its climax in the August issue on July 3.
The story centers on a girl named Miwa, whose life is shōjo manga. She gets emotional support through Sei, the hero of a manga she reads. Miwa's pretty appearance and personality that gets tends to put her at risk means she often attracts the male gaze. However, her best friend Niko is always by her side to look out for her. Though Miwa could be happy in the world of manga, she thinks heroes like those in her favorite stories don't exist in real life. One day, Miwa happens to meet a boy who looks just like Sei.
The series launched in the magazine in July 2016. Shueisha released the eighth compiled book volume on February 25, and the ninth will ship on June 25.
